When it comes to inventing holidays, Nils Frahm has conceived a celebration that has the holiday inventors at greeting card companies everywhere saying, “Why didn’t we think of that?” In reference to the piano’s 88 keys, Nils has designated the 88th day of the year Piano Day. This year, the 88th day falls on March 29. In celebration of this auspicious occasion, hometown favorite Caleb Nei brings the first live concert of his Wordless Flight project to the Barns of Rose Hill. Caleb is usually known for his jazz performances, but Wordless Flight takes an entirely new direction.
Wordless Flight, a project born from the solitude of the pandemic, consists of simple piano melodies, synth backgrounds, and effects. Think indie film score meets the Ambient Japan playlist on Spotify. As simple piano melodies drift though the atmosphere, you’ll find yourself transported to another time and place. (Which one, we’re not sure.) Find out more about Wordless Flight and hear the music here: wordlessflight.com.
Expect artistic creation in the moment. Performance art meets concert. The entire experience will be recorded with the fervent hope that it will be released as an upcoming Wordless Flight album.
As the free concert is at noon, feel free to bring lunch, and come and go as your schedule allows.
